FAQ

The questions below describe how full-time courses at West London College were handled in the past. They are provided for historical reference only. For current study or admissions information, please contact the present-day West London College.

Applying to study at the College

  1. How did students make an application?

Historically, the application process was straightforward. Applicants completed an application form, attached their high-school results and any other relevant qualifications, and submitted the documents by post, email or through an authorised representative.

If an application was successful, the College issued an Offer Letter confirming acceptance onto the course.

  1. How long did the process take?

Most applications were processed within a few days. If no response had been received within three weeks, applicants were encouraged to contact the College so their details could be checked.

  1. Was there an application fee?

There was no fee charged at the point of application. The cost of assessing documents was included within the tuition fee.

  1. Was there a deadline for applications?

There was no formal closing date. Applications were accepted as long as places remained available. Overseas applicants were encouraged to allow two to three months to complete payment, visa formalities and travel arrangements.

Once an offer had been issued, applicants arranged payment of course fees, returned a signed enrolment form and used their documentation to apply for a visa where necessary.

  1. Where could applicants get help?

Applicants in London could visit the College in person and speak to a course adviser, often receiving guidance and an indication of their acceptance the same day.

The College also worked with recognised representatives in many countries who assisted students with course selection, visa preparation and accommodation options.

Fees

  1. Could fees be paid in instalments?

Yes. Students were permitted to pay fees in instalments, although an additional charge applied when this option was chosen. Requirements varied depending on visa status and nationality.

  1. Could fees be paid by credit or debit card?

Yes. The College accepted most major cards. UK-based cardholders were encouraged to pay in person, while overseas cardholders completed an authorisation form and submitted supporting identification, subject to security checks.

  1. Did the College offer scholarships?

No. West London College did not operate a scholarship scheme. Students were often advised to explore assistance through their government, employer or local British Council office.

  1. Were refunds available if a visa was refused?

Yes. Students who were refused a visa were normally entitled to a refund of fees paid, minus the non-refundable registration charge. Refunds were issued as quickly as practicable once the official notice of refusal had been received.

In many cases, applicants were also encouraged to consider re-applying for a visa if appropriate.
