Hostel accommodation
West London College once provided comfortable, moderately priced hostel accommodation for new full-time students.
Although use of the service was optional — many students chose instead to stay with friends or relatives in London — the College maintained a number of hostel facilities within easy travelling distance of the campus. These hostels were located in some of London’s most well-known neighbourhoods, including Notting Hill, Bayswater, Swiss Cottage and Queensway, and offered half-board accommodation at reasonable rates.
The hostels were designed to give students a safe, secure and welcoming place to live on arrival in the city, which could otherwise be challenging for those unfamiliar with London’s housing market. Meals were provided, and the shared environment helped new students quickly make friends and form social connections. Where possible, students enrolled on the same courses were accommodated together.
At the time, the process for securing hostel accommodation was straightforward: once a student had accepted a place and paid tuition fees, they were issued an Accommodation Booking Form to return to Student Services, after which confirmation was sent.
